Why do I see "NULL" as a value in my dashboard's prompts

Have you ever wondered why you see NULL as a value in your #OAC dashboard prompts and if you can control the behavior?

As you see in the dashboard prompt image on the right it shows "NULL" as a value other than the valid years. There are two reasons for this

• Oracle Analytics settings

• Fields settings in semantic modeling & database

If the field in question is marked as nullable in the semantic model and so in the database, this is likely to happen.

Secondly, your Oracle Analytics instance has a setting that you can change in the console.
